Cipe Pineles is mainly known for her brilliant design work and being the first woman inducted into the New York Art Directors’ Club, in 1948. She started slowly right after college, struggling to start her career in the face of sexism,she found a job with Contempora, Ltd. There, Conde Nast's wife noticed Pinele's work at Contempora, and soon enough she began working under Mehemed Agha on Vanity Fair and Vogue. From there she had many accomplishments like, becoming the first female AD of a "mass-market American publication,"directing at Seventeen and charm magazine, and finally getting her spot into the New York Art Directors' club.
